Different materials (metal, plastic, glass, wood, etc) sometinmes require unique setups, multiple passes. Our expertise will come to the rescue !
Our MOQ is 1 part, but of course, quantity is important, we offer discounted rates for larger production runs.
More intricate designs or markings may require additional precision, rotary axis set-up, conversion of the shape to be accepted by the laser. Again, our expertise will be crucial then.
Our prices are calculated according to how long it takes to laser your product individually. So the price is highly dependent on your design or the data you want to engrave and the compatibility between the laser light wavelength and the material. We can mark literally any design, however, sometimes your design has to be converted to a format compatible with the laser software (don't worry, we do it !) You also have to factor the way the parts are packaged and protected. Does it take a longtime to unwrap before marking and rewrap after marking ? or are the items in bulk ?
The quantity also has a significant impact on the price : to give you some ideas we are regularly marking rings for 15 GBP each, they are one offs ...but we also charge only a few pences per parts for large quantities of industrial components. Every marking job is different ! The largest we have done so far is 660,000 pcs for the UK MoD, so if you have lage quantities, don't be afraid to send us a message with your requirement !
Over the last 25 years we have been laser marking from commodities like a USB key or screw drivers to the one off's (like the Wimbledon tennis trophy or an artificial heart !)
Sometimes we laser mark products on customer site because it is not practicle or economically viable to send the parts to Sheffield. In that case we can bring our laser to your premises. As you can imagine this is a very bespoke service, so if you are interested by it please contact us and we will quote you according to the location, quantity, etc.
Lasering a product is easy, but people call things differently, and frankly this is just a question of semantic. Here are the 6 possibilities when you laser a product :
To put it simply : laser is concentrated light. There are many different type of lights, each one has its own specific wavelength. Every material also has a different reaction to a specific wavelength : it is called absorbsion.
So, depending on what material you want to process, some lasers will give you different results : the 6 results that are possible are above. Some materials just won't work at all. It is not a question of power, it is a question of absorbtion.
If your product is compatible, then to achieve the look that you desire, it is a question of fine tuning with the laser parameters to get your desired results
Don't worry about it, our experts knows what works and what does not,so all this process will be streamlined into one question ... What look do you want ? We will do the rest !
Below are some photos of the products we have marked over the last 25 years. They include laser envraving tools, laser engraving jewellery, laser marking animal tags, laser marking vibration tags, laser marking signage, laser engraving machine plates, laser marking cutlery, laser marking special knives and blades, laser marking lighters for the scouts, laser marking pens, laser marking pen protection, laser engraving bucket, laser marking motorbike, bicycle and racing car parts, laser marking electronic components, laser marking optical components, laser marking CNC machine tools, laser engraving promotional items, laser marking medical instruments, laser marking medical implants, laser engraving gauges and measurement devices, laser marking PPE kits, laser marking trays, laser engraving silicon parts and seals, laser marking buttons with day/ night features, laser marking control panels, laser engraving signs, laser engraving automotive parts, laser engraving cosmetics, laser marking parts and toold for the MoD, firemen and the police, laser engraving trophees, laser marking nuclear parts, etc !
